Bingo Rules You Never Break

bingo rules

Knowing bingo rules and etiquette before entering a hall, whether offline or online, is one of the most important steps a player can take towards becoming a proficient and respected player.

Since no two bingo halls operate the same way, seasoned players can get annoyed with beginners: from how they react to winning, the chairs in which they sit, calling “false bingos” and overall disruptive behaviour that reveals a lack of interest to inform themselves of the basic rules and etiquette of the hall before a session begins.

Online bingo is less restrictive, but game etiquette still applies.

Here are EIGHT general rules a player should know before sitting down to a session of bingo.

  1. Never break the rules set by the traditional hall or online bingo company. You need to be well versed on the rules and etiquette set before sitting down to a session, thus ensuring and enjoyable experience all around.
  2. Your reputation as a player is in your hands. Don’t do or say anything you cannot undo later or that which could potentially have you banned, not the least of which is intentionally distracting fellow players with obnoxious comments in online chat rooms, or trying to alter a bingo card in a traditional hall.
  3. Bingo is a social event, offline and online, and players are generally known to be a friendly lot who will be more than happy to talk to you or help you through any bingo issues you might have. But it is important to pipe down when the game starts. Nobody likes a loud, disruptive player.
  4. When playing in a traditional hall it is important to watch out for lucky seats. Regulars are very particular where they sit and if you happen to sit down in somebody’s lucky seat you will be asked to move.
  5. Never parrot numbers called. It’s an annoying habit that can have seasoned players extremely annoyed with you. Not to mention that is just poor form.
  6. It is important to be in a good mood when sitting down to any online game as a grumpy or negative player is, more likely than not, going to be distracted by that poor mood and make mistakes while playing. Not to mention the fact that such a player is bad company and will ruin the experience for all.
  7. Never take your frustrations out on the caller. A losing streak is not the fault of the caller. Learn how to take it in stride.
  8. Beware of calling false bingos. Calling bingo stops the flow of the game and nothing is more irritating than stopping because of a false bingo call.

Now that you know what NOT to do. Go play bingo and enjoy.

I just love when people starts bragging about how good they are at playing bingo, and how they have won a lot of money and stuffs. Those cocky persons are usually the one who leave the table with the larges faces in the world.

I tend to become a sore loser when thing don’t go my way at bingo, but I feel as I’m controlling myself a little more every time I sat down on a table.  I just have this need to take my frustrations out on the caller.  I need to find some patient.

Considering I usually break at least five of these eight rules, then, I probably am the worst bingo player in the world. I just like to annoy people and get them to a bad mood. Hey, it has to be at least one bad guy in every online bingo table, otherwise, it gets boring.

Can I add one more rule? Be a good sport, don’t be a sore loser or an obnoxious winner. Online bingo is cool, but I hate bragging bastards.

I ALWAYS play online bingo in my lucky seat; this is something I can’t do if I visit a bingo hall. Stay home, be safe, be always prepared and play bingo :D
