How To Play Online Bingo
Posted on: 17th January 2012
Bingo is a fun and entertaining pastime that is continuously growing in popularity, thanks largely to the advent of the internet and the innovative and creative technical minds that brought online bingo to the forefront of the gaming industry.
Playing bingo online is very much like playing traditional bingo except that there are a few differences and many advantages. Otherwise, the principles are the same.
As far as the differences are concerned, they are mainly cosmetic and technological. Cards appear on your computer screen, which you mark by clicking your mouse on the numbers called, and a random number generator culls the cards for you and calls numbers during the game. Finally, you don’t need to shout BINGO (unless you can’t help it) instead the computer will flash it on your screen.
Some bingo sites have automatic features. That is, the computer does all the work for you –from searching your cards for numbers called to marking your cards and calling bingo. While some players might feel this feature takes all the fun of the game away, many love this feature because it allows them to simply watch the game unfold while they multi-task or chat with other gamers
The many advantages of online bingo include the opportunity to play with more cards simultaneously than you would be able to at a traditional hall, the chance to win colossal jackpots, the prospect of meeting like-minded people in the friendly chat rooms and, most importantly, the ability to play from the comfort of your own home or wherever you might be when you decide to log on to a bingo website.
The two most important aspects of bingo are patience and good coordination. The outcome itself is down to luck.
As in offline bingo, the objective is to coordinate the numbers that are called with the numbers on your card(s) and depending on what type of bingo game you are playing the aim is to complete a row, pattern or shape that is deemed a BINGO by said game.
The row, pattern or shape is always made known at the start of the game so be sure to know what it is before starting.
All cards have the B-I-N-G-O letters on the top row with numbers running as a column below each corresponding letter. A letter-number combination is called, which you have to mark on your card(s). For example, if I-18 is called you have to mark it on your card (s). Of course, if it isn’t on your card(s), you wait for the next number-combination to be called. As mentioned above the process of coordinating letter-number combinations called continues until you or somebody else completes the prescribed pattern and calls bingo.
